CBMVA Membership
Calgary Buddhist Maha Vihara Association (CBMVA) or Daayaka Sabhaawa solely depends on the Association Membership for the maintenance of the premises with the selfless subscriptions of its Membership, constituted as follows:
Honorary Membership: The Spiritual Leader-cum-Chief Resident Monk, the Deputy Chief and other Permanent Resident Monks are assigned Honorary Membership. They are totally exempt from Membership Fees. Of course, it is considered bounden duty of the commuters served by the Maha Vihara; for a place of religious observance and learning for the community’s children is imperative.
General Membership: Any member of the public aged 18 and above, who is willing to support CBMVA objectives may be conferred Membership on application. General Membership also covers his or her Spouse per family.
Associate Membership: Newcomers to Canada and Students above 18 years of age may, on application in the normal procedure shall be granted Associate Membership for limited periods of time as appropriate.
Membership Fee: The Membership Fee is C$ 20.00 per month. This subscription may also be paid monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually at a Member’s personal option. However, an Associate Member (Student) shall pay only C$20.00 for an year, as Membership Fee.
While all are welcome to freely associate with the Maha Vihara at their free will irrespective of being a member of the Association or not, but we do earnestly request everyone to kindly consider assisting the Daayaka Sabhaawa (Association) in its dire need to strengthen the building fund, so that a suitable premises could be purchased as soon as possible to improve facilities for one and all.
